The nervous rants of a uni student

Well my second week finished and I know slightly more than last week. I have been allowed to carry out a procedure on my own without supervision. I have made that sound like I have done something amazing, all I did was make slides. Not very exciting I tell you although I thought that I probably wouldn't be doing anything in the lab other than read after the needle incident for some time.

Have braved the scallies and parked my car on the streets, I pretty much run out of work and power walk to my car and breath a great sigh of relief upon finding it still there. I am probably just being paranoid and underestimating the taste of car thiefs it is afterall a Punto and they normally favour fords.

Finished at 12 today so had the pleasure of day time telly. I am very disappointed that they have switched Murder She Wrote for Diagnosis Murder. There is just no comparision, they could build a ship out of the wood that is on DM.

Have completed my first week in my placement. Spent the first two days reading lots of background stuff and methods on how to carry out the experiments. The first time that they let me actually do anything I managed to stab myself in the finger with a needle. This resulted in a morning spent at Occupational Health and ended up with a Hep B injection. Luckily for me the needle was still perfectly sterile but it could have been much worse. The tip of my finger is still numb but hopefully this wont last for very long. I am starting to enjoy it now and have read some interesting stuff about cancer and that. Have my own name badge which is slightly weird not in a bad way but it makes me feel all grown up. Not looking forward to people asking me for directions as I have no idea where I am myself half the time so no way would I be able to direct anyone else.

Still really enjoying my car. Have cleaned it every sunday. Was very annoyed this morning as I found that some dirty tramp had allowed their dog to wee all over my back tyre. There was still liquid present Eeeuuuh!!. I am now on the lookout for a system which will squirt the owner and the dog if it tries anything like that again. Still its looking all shiney now.

Well not really got anything else to say of importance and if I continue it will fill my blog with absolutely drivle. Not that it isn't now. So will be off then.
